Matt Leer has been working as a creative in advertising for nearly 15 years. But his zig-zag path has lead him in many directions to arrive at this career. A bachelor of fine arts with a focus in sculpture from the University of North Texas, where he created sound art and installation pieces (a stretch for sculpture, but at the time there was no New Media Art dept.) Matt has never taken the easy path if it’s something he feels strongly about. Shortly after graduating, he spent years as a musician performing and recording in internationally touring bands. At this time he was a freelancer working as a set designer and decorative painter on catalog photoshoots for Neiman Marcus and other clients. After a brief stint as a house-flipper in Austin, Matt relocated back to the Dallas area and began his agency career at Integer in the production studio. As a studio artist he gained many of the technical and problem solving skills required to create flawless deliverables. All of these skills acquired over the years as well as taking leaps to keep learning have helped shape a well rounded creative designer who is not afraid to take something on and learn from others along the way.
